Supporting Youth Education

Aspen-Chile-Mandela-Day-1-d5e75d47

Aspen Chile once again engaged in Mandela Day by partnering with Puente Foundation, a non-profit organization established more than 25 years ago. Puente shares an Aspen philosophy that education is the key to changing the world and contributing towards overcoming poverty.

The Foundation supports vulnerable students in Santiago who are 18 to 24 years old and who want to go to university to follow their dreams of becoming professionals.

As part of the 2021 activities Aspen hosted discussions with young students that focused on personal brand development, preparing for a job interview, professional development, and employability among others.

COVID-19 contributed to an economic crisis in Chile, and it had a material effect on many students who were not able to progress their studies because they didn’t have the necessary technology for online education. Aspen stepped in and provided access to computers, the internet, printers, and related consumables to ensure that students were able to complete their academic year despite the prevailing circumstances.
