Making memories with maltreated children

For Mandela Day, the Aspen Romania team chose to bring happiness into the lives of less fortunate children at Braila Emergency Placement Center. This facility cares for 18 maltreated children aged from 4 to 16 years.

As the Center does not have the resources to attend to the playground and garden, the team decided to assist them and take care of this need. They spent the day painting walls and fences, assembling garden furniture, planting grass and playing with the children, who welcomed the visitors and eagerly play along.

It was an incredible opportunity to work alongside the Center employees, the children and other volunteers and the team left with smiles on their faces and filled with wonderful, lasting Mandela Day memories that they made with the children.
