Hungary

The Magyar Máltai Szeretetszolgálat (Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta) was established as a homeless shelter in 2010 to provide temporary accommodation for 40 elderly convalescent patients.

Patients receive treatment for various ailments such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, renal failure and others.

Ten volunteers from Aspen Hungary’s office enthusiastically collected clothing, linen, blankets and other necessities and handed these donations to the very grateful staff at the shelter. In addition, they cleaned and painted two of the rooms and also provided a nutritious lunch for the highly appreciative patients and staff.
