Australia
Aspen Australia selected two beneficiaries for their 2012 Mandela Day activities. These included Foodbank and Oxfam.
Two groups of employees from Melbourne and Sydney visited their respective FoodBank distribution centres on the 18th & 19th July for a full day of sorting and packing food items.
Once packed, the hampers were collected by welfare agencies who distributed the food parcels to beneficiaries.
Aspen Australia's employees also hosting barbeques at 4 of its sites namely, Dandenong, Noble Park, Croydon South and Baulkham Hills to raise funds for Oxfam Australia.
Aspen Australia funded the catering for over 500 staff members who made a cash donation to purchase the meal. An online donation option was also set up for donations from staff who are unable to attend one of the barbeques. All funds raised through the barbeque activities or online donation option, were matched by Aspen Australia and gifted to Oxfam.

Oxfam uses a combination of rights-based sustainable development programs, public education, Fair Trade, campaigns, advocacy, and humanitarian assistance in disasters and conflicts on a global, regional, national and local level.
In Australia, Oxfam is particularly active in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Oxfam works with Indigenous Australians to improve their living conditions as well as their social, emotional and cultural wellbeing.
