Supporting Casa de Acogida Mater‘s paediatric kidney patients
Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s legacy and his call to build a more just and compassionate world, Aspen Chile carried out another meaningful volunteer day at Casa de Acogida Mater in San Miguel. This institution provides shelter and support to children with kidney diseases who must travel from various regions of the country, accompanied by their caregivers, to receive medical treatment.

Since 2024, Aspen Chile has developed a close relationship with this organization, built on respect, empathy, and genuine commitment. This year, 15 team members took part in a deeply enriching experience that included an informative session led by the Casa Mater team, which focused on the comprehensive care of the children and their medical and emotional needs. This space allowed volunteers to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges these families face.

The connection with the community was further strengthened through the donation of new plants for the vegetable garden established last year, promoting sustainable learning and collaborative work. Two power generators were also delivered, contributing to the improvement of the home’s infrastructure, along with a washer-dryer. These simple yet meaningful gestures reflect the spirit of service that inspires this initiative.
