Aspen Oss makes a difference for Ukranian refugees and animals

Our team in the Netherlands at Aspen Oss have been deeply committed to our Mandela Day campaign since 2014, shortly after our acquisition of that business.

Aspen Oss

More than 150 employees participated in our 2022 Mandela Day campaign once again testified to our well-established culture of doing good for others. We chose to support three beneficiaries this year: Thuis in Oss, Dierenopvang Maasland and De Lappenmand.

Thuis in Oss, established in February 2016, provides housing and education to Ukrainian refugees, primarily mothers and children. We supported their summer programme by participating in fun outdoor activities with the children for a day. A second group of volunteers painted the children’s temporary classroom to establish a more cheerful environment. The children also joined in this activity by creating their own paintings which were proudly hung on the walls of the classroom.

Dierenopvang Maasland is dependent on the community to provide support to care for neglected, abused or abandoned animals. Their 5 employees and 85 dedicated volunteers host multiple fundraising activities to care for the animals. Our employees donated clothing and textiles to De Lappenmand which, in turn, exchanges these items for funding for the animal shelter.
