This year’s Mandela Day activity brought joy and warmth to 97 children ranging from below one to six years old. Twenty-six Aspen employees visited the shelter and dedicated their time, care, and energy to create remarkable memories with the kids. The celebration was filled with joy and meaningful moments— highlighted by fun, interactive games, a hearty meal and a special surprise appearance and dance by Jollibee, an icon of Filipino childhood. Jollibee lit up the children’s faces, danced and played with them, and made the visit a truly extraordinary experience.

One highlight of the activity was the handover of essential donations. These items will make a significant difference for the children and the social workers at White Cross who are admired for their commitment and dedication in showing care and love to the abandoned children.

In the same spirit of camaraderie, and also marking its 14th year of collaboration, Aspen Philippines once again supported the South African Embassy in the Philippines in their own Mandela Day activity at Nayon ng Kabataan in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila. Nayon ng Kabataan currently provides shelter and care to 150 abandoned and neglected children between the ages of seven and 18 years. Aspen donated supplies of rice and hygiene kits, which were delivered by two representatives to augment the Embassy’s initiative and reinforce the shared commitment to uplift under-served communities.

Aspen Philippines remains steadfast in our commitment in addressing underlying issues that are often neglected and overlooked by many, and we are always ready to make a difference where it truly matters. Above all we remain dedicated to living out the legacy of Nelson Mandela by bringing hope and joy to those who need it most – one act of kindness at a time.
