Enhancing the Rosinka Center for its children

The Rosinka Rehabilitation Center located in Balashikha cares for approximately 60 children and teenagers with disabilities. This center provides social, medical, psychological and pedagogical rehabilitation for children and adolescents with chronic diseases of internal organs and systems; impaired neuropsychic development, as well as borderline social conditions with some of the children being treated on an outpatient basis.

Aspen Russia’s 26 volunteers were joined by 19 members of the South African Embassy in Russia to attend to pressing needs at the Rosinka Center in support of Mandela Day.

The teams undertook a broad range of projects. These included restoring the slide, replacing the gazebo’s roof, painting the playhouse and pavilions, benches, tables, recreational equipment and sandboxes. Flower beds were cleared and refreshed and an old decorative fence was removed.

While some employees tended to the renovations, others taught the children how to make soap following which they enjoyed being entertained by two animators.

Aspen’s committed team collected RUR 20 000 to enhance the facilities, provide a lunch and spoil the children with entertainment. They agreed that witnessing their gratitude was worth so much more than their efforts, proving that it indeed doesn’t take much to show care and kindness to those who simply need to know that they are loved and have a future meaningful role to fulfill in society.
