Creating a positive environment for Krasnoyarsk’s abandoned children
Krasnoyarsk Regional Specialized Orphanage No. 3 in Siberia, cares for 30 abandoned children, aged from one to four years. This home offers specialist support to assist the children with social adaptation and integration back into society.
The professionals who serve at this Home strive to create conditions that promote emotional, physical, and mental well-being that contributes towards early childhood development. To achieve these goals, the specialists perform diagnostic, educational, and correctional-developmental tasks. Given their abandonment, an important aspect of the work is to create optimal conditions for a harmonious emotional state which assists in the child’s development.
From a young age, children experience the world in bright, beautiful colours. Consequently, a small team from Aspen Russia’s Krasnoyarsk region focused on visual stimulation by brightly painting the play modules, benches and sandboxes in the playground. They also spent quality time with the children and enjoyed participating in educational and sporting games to encourage physical stimulation while developing gross motor skills.
