Environmental action along catalonia’s Llobregat River
Ten volunteers from our Aspen España office partnered with Fundesplai to contribute towards the protection and restoration of the natural environment along the Llobregat river in Catalonia.
Fundesplai has provided educational, social, and environmental programmes to the community for more than 50 years. This non-profit organisation also supports initiatives that foster innovation and sustainability in communities across the country.
In celebration of Mandela Day, our volunteers joined Fundrsplai to remove invasive plant species along the Llobregat river, the second longest in Catalonia. They also introduced native Mediterranean plants such as lavender, rosemary, and cornflower to support pollinators and enhance biodiversity.
These efforts make a meaningful contribution towards recovering the local ecosystem and promoting a healthier, more sustainable future.
