Caring for Tanzania’s orphans and the elderly
Mother Theresa’s Charity Centre was established in Dar Es Salaam in 1976. This Centre depends on community and corporate support to care for some 150 orphans, children with special needs and the elderly.
Shelys Pharmaceuticals volunteers visited the Centre in celebration of Mandela Day. The team from this Aspen Group company interacted with the orphaned children and abandoned aged residents to cheer them up for the day.
After visiting the various wards at the facility, the team handed over a range of donations. These included diapers, infant milk formula and milk powder, mosquito repellent and other items. The Sisters in attendance were also overjoyed to receive a 50hl water storage tank which was desperately needed at the Centre.
