A Day of inspiration, learning, and joy for TFCF’s children
Aspen Taiwan marked a significant milestone in 2025 through its continued partnership with the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (“TFCF”) for the ninth consecutive year. This non-profit organisation has spent 73 years supporting underprivileged children and families across 34 countries. In celebration of Mandela Day, 24 Aspen Taiwan employees participated in a socio-economic development initiative, transforming 18 July into a memorable day of connection, discovery, and inspiration.
Set against the skyline of Taipei, the day began with a visit to the observatory of the iconic Taipei 101. Ascending to the 89th floor in just 37 seconds, the children marveled at the panoramic view of the city. The experience was enriched by a guided tour that shared the building’s historical significance, cultural symbolism, and engineering feats—highlighting the world’s largest wind damper, a 660-metric-ton structure designed to stabilize the skyscraper.
After lunch, the group boarded a double-decker sightseeing bus to explore the city. As they passed through Taipei’s lively streets, the children were introduced to key architectural landmarks and cultural sites, deepening their appreciation for their local heritage through a fresh lens.
The day concluded with a thrilling visit to iRide, where participants enjoyed a 5D flying experience that offered a breathtaking aerial journey across Taiwan. The immersive ride captured the island’s natural beauty, leaving a lasting impression of wonder and pride with the young guests.
Though many of the children live in Taipei, each experience was new, exciting, and filled with meaning. As the day drew to a close, it was evident that the spirit of Mandela Day had been fully realised, demonstrating that through small acts of kindness and meaningful community engagement, we all have the power to make a difference.
