Aspen Pharma Brazil Celebrates 16 Years of Solidarity on Mandela Day
For the 16th consecutive year, Aspen Pharma Brazil celebrated Mandela Day by turning Nelson Mandela’s legacy into action.
On 17 July, more than 385 employees came together across two locations — Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo — to strengthen our long-standing partnerships with Instituto Inclusão e Desenvolvimento pelo Esporte (“IDE”) and Central Única das Favelas (“CUFA/ES”).
The mobilisation began during the B27 Convention, when members of the Aspen Sales Force took part in a donation drive to support our partner organisations. Aspen Pharma Brazil donated 400 food baskets, while employees expanded this solidarity effort by collecting diapers, wet wipes, socks, blankets and other essential items. Beyond the donations, employees also gave something even more valuable: their time, dedication and care, helping to bring support and comfort to more than 1,600 people experiencing social vulnerability.
Employees from Aspen’s Rio de Janeiro office participated in recreational activities, shared moments of connection and enjoyed meals with children and families supported by Instituto IDE/RJ in Jardim Gramacho. The organisation supports families in the Duque de Caxias region through initiatives focused on education, sport, leisure and health.
In Espírito Santo, employees from the Serra manufacturing site delivered donations to CUFA/ES, which works with communities experiencing social vulnerability. The organisation provides support through initiatives focused on solidarity, citizenship, sport, culture and social development.
Aspen has maintained long-standing partnerships with both organisations, particularly through its annual Mandela Day campaign.

More than a once-off initiative, Mandela Day represents Aspen Pharma Brazil’s ongoing commitment to the communities where we operate. It also keeps alive the tradition of dedicating 67 minutes to community service, inspired by the 67 years Nelson Mandela devoted to the fight for human rights.
