Impactful volunteering at an Oakville animal shelter

The organisation accommodates up to 12 volunteers at a time for outdoor events, typically engaging with individuals of various ages from young adults to seniors in the community. During this year’s event, nine Aspen Canada employees from the head office enthusiastically participated in support of the OMHS Pet Food Bank.
Activities were divided among our group of volunteers to ensure the process was productive and efficient during the event. Four employees repackaged dry pet food, carefully measuring and portioning bags for distribution. Another three team members worked on repackaging canned food for proper and safe storage. The remaining two volunteers handled labelling and transportation of the food into shipping containers, preparing them for delivery to families and pets in need.
A group photo captured the spirit of the day, showcasing the team’s commitment and productivity during the hours of volunteer work. The event concluded with a guided tour of the OMHS facility, giving Aspen employees insight into the shelter’s operations and impact on the surrounding community.
Corporate volunteering at OMHS offered our employees the chance to support a meaningful cause while also strengthening team bonds through an impactful experience. This event aligns with Aspen’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility goals and reinforces the importance of community partnerships in addressing local needs.
