Aspen Chile marks Mandela Day through service and solidarity

As part of Mandela Day 2026, Aspen Chile reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local communities through a day of service at Corporación Mater, an organisation with which it has partnered for the past three years.

Based in Santiago, Corporación Mater works to prevent and treat paediatric nephro-urological conditions while providing comprehensive support to children and families navigating these diagnoses. Its work spans four key areas – a Medical Centre, Surgical Services, a Residential Support Home and Education – benefiting more than 30 children, adolescents and adults.

On 11 August 2026, a team of 10 Aspen Chile employees visited the organisation’s Residential Support Home in Santiago to contribute their time and energy to creating a more comfortable and supportive environment for those staying at the facility.

The volunteers delivered a range of essential items donated by Aspen Chile, including bedside tables, clothes-drying racks, crockery and freezers. Working together, they assembled and installed the donations, ensuring that the new equipment could be put to use immediately.

The day also provided an opportunity to connect beyond the practical support. Volunteers shared breakfast with two leaders from Casa de Acogida, gaining a deeper understanding of the organisation’s work, as well as the needs and challenges faced by the children and families it supports.

The experience highlighted that meaningful community engagement is about more than providing resources. It is also about being present, listening and working together to make a practical difference.

For Aspen Chile, the initiative strengthened its longstanding partnership with Corporación Mater while bringing the spirit of Mandela Day to life through teamwork, compassion and service. By combining hands-on support with meaningful connection, Aspen employees demonstrated their commitment to fostering community solidarity and contributing to the well-being of those who need it most.
