Joy and gratitude expressed by elderly residents
At Aspen Caricam, we believe that purpose is measured by the impact we create in the communities we serve. This Mandela Day, all employees came together across seven countries to transform compassion into action, demonstrating that even the smallest acts of service can leave a lasting impact.
Companionship is a human basic need, and moreso for the elderly who may no longer have much contact with their loved ones.
So too is it for the 150 residents who call Centro de Atención a Ancianos Sara Zaldívar in El Salvador their home. This nursing home, established in 1886, provides comprehensive care and residential services to older adults who lack family support and who are in conditions that place their dignity and well-being at risk.
The residents were overjoyed to welcome Aspen El Salvador's volunteers who shared a wonderful day with them filled with fun activities, treats and quality discussions.
