Experiencing children’s joy while enhancing their playground
Aspen Perú believes in making a positive contribution to the sustainable development of society by promoting high quality education within the country. One of our objectives is to enhance the aesthetic and functional conditions of learning and recreational environments.
Fifteen volunteers engaged in Aspen Perú’s Mandela Day activity by enhancing the playground which forms the social and environmental space at Colegio 7081 José María Arguedas, located in the San Juan de Miraflores District. Our efforts resulted in a healthier and more interactive environment which directly benefits approximately 1 350 primary and secondary students as well as the community.
The activity started early in the morning and listening to the children while we worked was very heartwarming. Hearing comments such as: “How beautiful my school is!” and “That color is more beautiful than the one it was before!” encouraged us to reflect on the positive impact that small efforts can have on a person’s life, especially children.
