To honour the aged, Aspen Philippines visited Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly in San Juan, Metro Manila—a sanctuary for 77 elderly women who have dedicated their lives to family, careers, and community.

On July 19, 2024, in celebration of Mandela International Day, Aspen Philippines brought joy to the residents through entertainment, engaging activities, and meaningful interactions with all the employees. The event featured an introduction to Nelson Mandela, with some elderlies surprisingly familiar with his legacy.

The South African Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Bartinah Radebe-Netshitenzhe, also graced the occasion with words of encouragement and the legacy of Nelson Mandela. Aspen Philippines CEO Michael Paul Batillano shared heartfelt words with the elderlies, expressing gratitude for their wisdom and contributions to society.

The smiles on the residents’ faces made the event truly special, and we extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed to its success.

Held in partnership with Joshua Care International, a children’s home dedicated to supporting abandoned, abused, and neglected children, the event provided much-needed assistance to 73 students. Aspen Philippines contributed school supplies and sacks of rice, reinforcing its commitment to education and community welfare.

The celebration was made even more special with the participation and support of several South African Pharmaceutical companies in Philippines. The students also showcased their talents through energetic dance performances, bringing joy and excitement to the event.

Representing Aspen Philippines were AVP Steven Lumabi, Assistant HR Manager Myrra Catarroja, and HR Specialist Angeline Limpiada, who took part in the meaningful initiative. Through this effort, Aspen Philippines continues to uphold Mandela’s vision of a world where every child has access to education and the opportunity for a brighter future.
