The children's rooms were refurbished, with doors replaced on the cupboards and ceiling fans installed in five bedrooms. The stairs of this three-storey house were made more child friendly with anti-slip strips fitted to each stair for the children's safety.

A range of donations were collected from Aspen's employees, its suppliers and customers as well as the South African Embassy in Venezuela. These items include much needed clothing, personal hygiene products, school supplies, non perishable foodstuffs, educational toys and fans.

The children were also be treated to a wonderful party on Mandela Day and each received a gift of a toy.
